Their perfectly renditioned, toe-tapping fiddle tunes transport listeners to the musical heart of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Their sound is rich, traditional, and always in harmony. The band can transition from slow, soothing sounds to more upbeat rhythms with ease. The Fine Tuners are sure to complement the natural sound of any venue, without overpowering it.
More recently Stephen has expanded service options and now offers DJ service for the dinner and dance. DJ services are also available for any kind of party or event. Stephen completes the booking and service. All requests throughout will be played, including dinner entrances, the first dance and any other special requests.
You can even share an iTunes or Spotify playlist and have that worked into the evenings performance. Requests are always accepted.
Bookings also include a professional sound system, lighting and a microphone.

Calen Kinney & Anthony Rissesco
Fiddles
Calen Kinney is a Nova Scotian native with 15 years under his belt as a fiddler. He grew up in a small community saturated in Celtic tradition with many ceilidh’s and kitchen parties, allowing him to develop as a truly authentic traditional player. Calen currently plays in the popular East Coast Celtic-rock group, The Stanfields, where he has had the opportunity to tour the world – in the past year he has played all across Europe and even performed in the North Pole, at the most Northern inhabited land in the world!
Although most proficient in Celtic music, Calen has played in many bands of varying genres, such as bluegrass, country, pop rock, electronic dance music and gypsy jazz. He identifies as a musician who enjoys pushing the creative envelop and collaborating with musicians in pursuit of being a unique and original violinist.
Anthony Rissesco is a versatile violin player and teacher who tours regularly with award-winning singer-songwriter Lennie Gallant and with roots-rock band Pogey. As a member of the neo-traditional trio Papilio, Anthony has garnered ECMA and Nova Scotia Music Awards nominations. He is also a member of the popular Halifax band The Gig Dogs. Anthony has played with Symphony Nova Scotia, Anne Murray, and Peggy Seeger.
As a music student at Dalhousie University, Anthony studied classical violin under Phillippe Djokic. He has won fiddle competitions throughout Canada, including the Maritime Fiddle Championship. In 1990, he came third in the Canadian Open in Shelburne Ontario, and he was chosen to represent Nova Scotia at the Grand Masters Competition in Ottawa for six consecutive years.

Hello, my name is Stephen MacNeil and for 15 years I have been agent and musician for The Fine Tuners and have have demonstrated strong customer service skills contributing to successful outcomes across various endeavours.
I have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner, fostering positive relationships with clients and suppliers alike. Whether through face-to-face interactions, email communications, or phone calls, I prioritize responsiveness, clear communication, and attention to detail to ensure customer satisfaction.
My responsibilities have extended to financial and administrative tasks, where I have showcased my ability to manage budgets, create contracts and tracking logistics.
In addition to customer service and administrative duties, I have excelled in providing DJ services for corporate events and weddings across Nova Scotia. This role has allowed me to showcase my musical talents, adaptability, and professionalism in creating memorable experiences for clients and guests.
Furthermore, I have supervised and managed hired musicians as part of The Fine Tuners. Over the years, we have booked and performed approximately 1,500 performances, demonstrating our commitment to musical excellence and client satisfaction.
I am passionate about delivering exceptional results, fostering meaningful connections, and contributing to the success of every project I undertake.
